Dissertation
My PhD work at the University of Tennessee, finished in 2020, on the neural control of gait and other behavioral tasks. Most of it comes down to musculoskeletal modeling and optimization: building models of how people move, then writing custom optimization goals to make simulations reproduce and predict that movement. A lot of the tooling I've built since — MocoExtendProblem in particular — grew out of problems I ran into here.
